Tower of London

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Client: HRP (Historic Royal Palaces)

Sector: Architecture/Buildings

Location: London, United Kingdom

Year: 2015 - 2016

Crowd Dynamics were commissioned by HRP (Historic Royal Palaces) to provide an adaptable crowd simulation model to analyse the visitor movement and internal attraction use in the Tower of London.

The model has been built, calibrated and validated against existing data. It can now be used subsequently for any further analysis. Most recently analysis has been undertaken using the model to inform discussions on optimum capacity of the tower, the management systems that allow such a capacity to be managed efficiently and the implications of this.

Timed ticketing scenarios were developed and simulated to compare and evaluate the options against the existing site.
