Crowd Dynamics were commissioned to analyse the evacuation processes and optimised evacuation routes of the buildings on the Canary Wharf site, from inside the building through to safe holding areas externally, showing the safest routes given a particular threat. Dynamic software was created to inform office workers of their best route from a particular office out of the building and away from the current threat.

Further research was undertaken at Canary Wharf both internally and externally, considering crowd modelling to counter terrorism, focusing on the likely use of space, density maps and cross flows in key areas.
